A MOTORCYCLIST died following a collision with a Ute on Galatea Road yesterday.
Eastern Bay road policing manager Ray Wylie said the motorcyclist was stationary at the time of the collision.
Police were called to the incident near Lake Matahina just before 4pm.
A police spokeswoman said the driver of the motorcycle died at the scene. Police are in the process of notifying next of kin.
“The road was closed following the crash and diversions were put in place for a few hours. The road reopened just before 7.30pm last night.”
The Serious Crash Unit was conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
